ESSLLI 2020 Grants

Student Grants

The ESSLLI 2020 Organizing Committee is proud to announce a limited number of grants that might cover:

  • Participation Fee Waivers,
  • Student Accommodation,
  • Travel Costs.

The grants will be awarded to highly motivated and talented Master students or PhD students. Please note that grants might include not full, but also partial support for travel and/or accommodation.

Preference will be given to: students who actively participate in the Student Session; students without alternative financial support for the participation; outstanding and highly motivated students. Please understand that we cannot guarantee grants to all students presenting a paper at the Student Session.

Applications should be submitted through Registration Form for Grant Applicants

Each application should contain:

  • ESSLLI 2019 Grant Application Form (to be printed and signed by the applicant and an endorsing faculty member who is well acquainted with the applicant, e.g. a thesis supervisor),
  • Proof of valid student status,
  • Motivation letter, including an explanation of financial need if applicable (maximum 2 pages),
  • CV (maximum 2 pages).

The above documents must be combined into a single pdf file (Please provide as a title your student level: BA/MA/PhD/Other; and as keywords your grant type(s): fee waiver, accommodation, travel. You can list one or more grant types.).

  • Notification: May 17, 2020

Students who have applied for an ESSLLI 2020 grant will be notified via e-mail until May 19, 2020 about the outcome of their application. Students who are awarded a grant might be asked to provide some help in the organization during their participation to ESSLLI 2019.
